Country elegance, professionally decorated for the discriminating visitor, awaits guests at the Mt. Sopris Inn, affording the opportunity to relax and enjoy the Crystal River Valley. The Inn is located on 14 acres, originally the home of a famed Aspen Ski Corporation president, with 775 feet of Crystal River frontage. A nature hiking path allows access to the River for the finest stream fishing anywhere.


Views of lush pastures and the sound of gentle breezes whistling through the pine trees greet guests as they relax by the pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. The magnificent panorama of the Crystal Valley, extending to Mount Sopris, McClure Pass and Chair Mountain, inspires visitors.

The two-story lobby entrance features a unique log and rail staircase. The Great Room, with its 15-foot wide floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace, has a 7-foot grand piano available for guests' use. An adjoining large flagstone terrace is ideal for small weddings.

Executive Board meetings and seminars are easily accommodated with our spacious executive conferencing facility.

A full gourmet breakfast is served every morning.
 

 

Area Activities

The Crystal River and Roaring Fork Valleys provide a rich array of activities every season of the year. Five ski resorts are within a 45-minute drive: Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass Ski Area and Ski Sunlight. The famed Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool is less than a half-hour's drive away.

Next to Mt. Sopris Inn is the River Valley Ranch Golf Course, a new premier championship 18-hole golf course designed by Jay Moorish. Six other golf courses are located within easy driving distance. Other activities and attractions include the annual Mountain Music Festival in nearby Redstone, river rafting, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, hiking and fishing.

All 13 guest rooms have TV, telephone, writing table or desk and private bath. Some rooms have a fireplace, some a Jacuzzi and most have a balcony with spectacular views. Two guest rooms provide handicapped accommodations.
